Welcome
Beam Station is an online Virtual Museum for
Valves, Tubes, Incandescent Bulbs and similar
items.
Connecting History to technology
Beam Station is a result of the desire to display the technology but
equally to try and illustrate historical facts and connections with
that object, just like a real museum.
That said, there are many objects in this collection for which the
history is as yet undiscovered or just not very interesting.
Within this site, links may be found to data sheets, reference
documents, links to other sites, other collections and blogs in the
attempt to offer a more complete information pack to visitors,
whether for reference or as a passing interest.
It is hoped that you will enjoy the information available here, and,
indeed, you are most welcome to contribute to the collection with
information, data sheets or even devices.
Please note that Beam Station is a private site and has no
commercial activity. Generally speaking, objects displayed or
referenced on this site are not for sale and are not traded. If you
have devices that you would like to donate or are interested in
selling, by all means contact Beam Station using the Email button.
Please see our Contact page for further information.
The owners of Beam Station and its collection are not commercial
traders or represent a trading business and is a solely private UK
based collection.
The Collection
Comprised of many objects, spanning over 90 years and
covering the birth of radio, international communications,
early RADAR, industrial and scientific thermionic devices.
The Collection encompasses the social revolution created by
the introduction of radio and the expanse of communications
worldwide thereafter.
Devices that shaped, aided and shortened a World War and
contributed to the technology within the Cold War. Even the
more mundane, industrial objects that have shaped society
and modern technology continue to be represented here at
beamstation.
